Chicago is a city located on the northeastern edge of Illinois. For long time it was the second city in the USA, but in 80's Los Angeles took over. Important dates to this city include the Great Fire of 1871, which killed 300 and let 90 000 homeless. In 1893, the city hosted the World's Columbia Exposition for 6 months, attracting some 26 million people. The city is 4 hours from Los Angeles and 2 hours from New York, Dallas, and Atlanta. Chicago is called "Windy City.

Chicago is truly one of the world's greatest tourist destinations, with millions visiting each year to enjoy our architecture, museums, unique neighborhoods and city-sponsored festivals.

  • Chicago has a program "Sister Cities International". Its sister cities include Paris, Osaka, Shanghai, Toronto, and Warsaw. Warsaw was one of the first city which joined this program in year 1960.
